Review of Barr Cill Athta, Dec 10 2010

We have rented Barr Cill Atha twice, one in June 2008 and again in June 2009. We are now booking our 3rd rental for May 2011. We have done many rental in Ireland, Scotland and Europe and Barr Cill Atha is the best experience we have ever had. The cottage is in a stunning location, beautifully furnished, reasonably priced, and immaculately clean. The owner, Jer Foley, couldnt have been more helpful. It was a wonderful experience. That is why we are returning for our third. rental.

Review for Bun Cill Atha, Novemberl 20, 2010

Modern, spacious house. We loved design of the living areas and large bedrooms, esp. jaccuzzi bath. Situated on hillside over looking Kenmare bay and mountains the views are breath taking. Owners very helpful when travel arrangements had to be changed.

Review for Barr Cill Atha November 03,2010

The website photos, do a nice job depicting the property interior, however they dont adequately reflect the amazing beauty of this property. The breathtaking views, the privacy and serenity of the location, and the deer, who graze on the front lawn at dawn and dusk, make this truly an amazing property

Review for Carrig Beag, October 22, 2010

The cottage is larger than the photos would lead you to think, which is a plus. Comfy beds, good showers and freeview TV is a bonus. Everything is provided in terms of towels and kitchenware and it was very clean throughout. However, the gas bill after just 4 days was really expensive (only having the heating on early morning and evening) which cleaned us out of euros before we left. The local town is lovely, but completely dead in winter (Feb) and I wouldnt recommend going there unless all you want is total quiet and are happy to cook for yourself as most of the local restaurants were closed the whole time. I imagine its very bustling in the summer (but with tourists rather than locals) and has a wide choice of pubs/places to eat (lots of award winning eateries, just not in winter! Great location for exploring, The Beara Peninsula is on your doorstep and is absolutely beautiful (a must drive, go anti-clockwise) then just up the road is The Ring of Kerry and the Kilarney National Park, both stunning.

We rented for 1 week and finally extended our stay for another week as the accommodation is great and we loved the place. The house is large, looks brand new, very well furnished. We appreciated the chimney. Quiet and peaceful. We would recommend it to our friends willing to visit Kerry.

Review for Ardmullen Detached July 14, 2010

My wife and I stayed in this property together with our daughter, son in law and two small grandchildren. We found the house spacious, beautifully finished and well equipped for our needs. Kenmare town is a leisurely 10 minute walk and the location was perfect with beaches and two outstanding golf courses within easy reach. The owner was very friendly and could not have been more helpful. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and recommend the property as an excellent base to enjoy a holiday in Kerry.

Review for Bun Cill Athta June 6, 2010

We have stayed here 2 years running now, as we loved it so much! The cottage is perfect if you want to get away from it all, yet still be close to civilisation. It is situated approx 2miles from Kenmare, a lovely town which has many restaurants bars, shops and a beautiful park. The cottage has landscaped gardens, perfect for families, and deer roam the hill and can be seen from the cottage. The cottage is very smart inside, having all mod cons such as dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, TV, DVD player etc, and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Home from home! Any problems, and the owner is easily contacted and is very friendly and helpful.

Review for Barr Cill Athta June 6, 2010

Barr Cillatha is a bit remote from Kenmare, but we knew that when we booked it. It is in a beautiful position overlooking Kenmare Bay and surrounded by the mountains. We were fortunate to have excellent weather for the week we stayed there, so the views were stunning. The quietness of the area was another plus for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We were visited by a few of the local wild deer on several occasions also. The property is spacious and comfortable and everything worked. We made it our home for a week and with everything else that the holiday offered in terms of good weather, scenery, good food, excellent guinness, friendly people, our choice of base for the week was excellent.

Review for Carrig Beag June 2, 2010

The owner was very kind. There had been construction workings on the road outside our booked house and he offered us an other one in a calm region with a very good standard. Anyway the owner was very friendly and easy to reach. Absolutely recommendable.

Review for Ardmullen 3 bed May 12, 2010

This modern three-bedroom house was spic-and-span throughout, with complete supplies of towels and linens, utensils, dishes, cutlery and very comfortable furniture. We did not use the clothes dryer or the dishwasher, but we did have fun figuring out and using the modern washing machine. It is very easy to control the heating and hotwater systems for maximum efficiency upstairs and down, which helps to keep the cost of utilities (renter pays) under control. The house is close enough to town for a 15-minute walk, and the owner, Jer Foley, is a helpful and friendly fellow.

Great location, only a 10 minute walk from town. Modern, bright, spacious. On a small cul-de-sac of houses, so nice and quiet

Review for Ardmullen Detached November 7, 2009

The house was exceptionally clean and as advertised. Cant fault the price for out of year and right next to the ring of Kerry country club (out the drive, left and 5 mins down the same road!) Couple of things - we felt there should be some basics left for people just turning up i.e. washing up liquid / dishwasher tablets, salt & pepper, sugar and perhaps a welcome basket of tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter - if you arrive late lie we did it was too late to get anything. Luckily the chap at the bar gave us some milk and tea bags. The showers need looking at - the pump isnt working properly and because of this the showers water comes out in drips and drabs which is a little annoying. Tap head in the kitchen needs re-fitting. Otherwise, grand.

Review for Bun Cill Athta October 15, 2009

This was a really spacious and high quality property, with great views on a clear day. It was quiet and easy to relax in, not what Id call cosy, more classy and chic. There was just enough to do in Kenmare and surrounding area. Its a great small town with good pubs, restaurants and shops but easy driving distance from some lovely scenery.

Review for Bun Cill Athta September 10, 2009

"This property was a class apart. The norm for holiday rental properties is to pack you in for maximum return on investment. Everything about Bun Cill Athta is the opposite, large double bedrooms with equally large en-suites and exceptionally large open plan living, dining and well fitted kitchen. Windows everywhere provide masses of light that only adds to the feeling of space. Combine this with a secluded, but not too remote, location that has well planned outside space to appreciate the stunning views and you have a winner. We would visit again and recommend to anyone without hesitation."

Review for Ardmullen 3 bed (O) September 09, 2009

"A lovely house, beautifully furnished and with plenty of space. Closer to town than I imagined too. A fairly pleasant 10 minute walk into Kenmare. The owner was very helpful and even provided us with a broadband USB stick to use for the week. I would definitely rent from them again. The only reason that I havent given an overall Excellent is that there are a few minor repairs needed around the house, but these were very minor. A great week away."
